Along with the launch of its brand new website, Ecoescape is excited to announce the launch of its new sister tour operation, Magnetic North Travel. The new company offers tailor made holidays that immerse guests into natural settings with the help of local knowledge and guides. Guests will travel to the wild North – to seas, mountains, fjords and forests – where people and nature have a story to tell.
Magnetic North adventures are inspired by the Norwegian philosophy of ‘Friluftsliv’, or ‘Outdoor life’ – the importance of being in remote places and enjoying simple things together. This way of being has helped generations of families and thinkers to explore their surroundings and to breath and live with nature – together. Friluftsliv has its home in Norway but travellers can learn from the philosophy in other northern hemisphere settings. Magnetic North’s destinations include Scotland, Ireland, Sweden and Wales, and, of course, Norway, with other destinations to join them in the coming months.
Magnetic North landscapes are home to communities – some have come and gone – but they all provide endless tales that capture the imaginations of guests, young and old alike. Magnetic North Travel weaves these stories into its holidays and uses traditional ways to explore nature – at nature’s pace.
Holidays to the Wild North include chasing the Northern Lights, viewing the Midnight Sun, foraging in the wild, sailing, kayaking and sharing stories around the fire. Under their feet guests use traditional ways to transit, with skis, kayaks, sailboats, snow shoes and walking boots.
