Thanks to two decades of dedicated conservation work the area now boasts Ireland’s largest collection of wildfowl and is renowned as the wintering ground for almost 95% of the world’s population of light-bellied Brent Geese who make the heroic 3000km journey from the Canadian Arctic to Strangford Lough each year.
