Northern Ireland’s leading environmental visitor attraction brings sustainability to life and get to grips with the future of renewable energy and climate change. The Centre is built on former derelict farm land prone to flooding and now covers an expanse of transformed wetlands, woodland, grassland, ponds and lakes. The building houses Ireland’s largest selection of solar water heating panels and benefits from other renewable forms of energy including wind power and a wood burning facility using coppiced wood from the local forest. Entrance is free of charge and visitors can explore a multitude of interactive zones and nature inspired activities. Outside litterbugs feed on visitors’ recycled trash but careful as certain bugs only take certain materials. Electric bikes are also available for hire to explore the grounds or take to the national cycle network which passes the site.
