Balanced on a rocky platform jutting out to sea, the Seabird Centre in North Berwick provides a unique wildlife viewing point toward the islands of the Firth of Forth. Visitors can enjoy a privileged insider peak at birdlife and sea creatures of the islands using unobtrusive and state-of-the-art cameras. The live action cameras are fully controllable from the centre and open up unparalleled detail into wildlife behaviour throughout the year. Spectacular seabird gatherings can be viewed on the Bass Rock with up to 100,000 gannets collecting at one time or if you’re lucky, passing dolphins, puffins and seals are regular sightings. The center itself is built with sustainable technology using local materials and natural light and ventilation. The Bay Restaurant serves a variety of seafood specialities complete with a sandy beach back-drop. Scotrail offer a combined travel and admission deal from Edinburgh.

We have recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick. Situated on the Firth of Forth looking across to the nearby islands of Fidra, Craigleith, May and Bass Rock it is great fun to operate the remote controlled cameras giving live pictures of Guillimots, Gulls, Cormorants and Puffins on the islands and some of the thousands of Gannets swirling around Bass Rock. The staff are informative, friendly and very helpful. The shop is well stocked with good quality gifts and the excellent cafe overlooks the beach where Eider Ducks can be seen. Anyone interested in wildlife will enjoy a visit. Thanks for pointing us towards this great tourist attraction.
